Another View of Gay Marriage
The South African Parliament -- on a continent whose people tend to be viciously anti-gay -- just approved marriage for gays/lesbians, joining a select group of only four other nations that have done so. Melanie Judge, program manager for gay advocacy group OUT, claimed: “This has been a litmus test of our constitutional values. It forced us to consider: What does equality really mean? What does it look like? Equality does not exist on a sliding scale.”
